The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) unveiled an enhanced version of its toll gate portal ( www.salik.ae ) in a stylish new design, offering eServices in a smooth manner with easily accessible information and a roadmap of toll gates.

Engineer Maitha bin Adai, CEO of RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, said the purpose of rejuvenated design was to provide users and subscribers access to the service speedily and conveniently. The website has a bilingual front page (Arabic & English) and a box to display the latest and key information, events and news of the system in the form of links, allowing users to toggle to access the required information or surf the News Archive. The Portal provides an integrated package of the latest services along with full explanation of the new features.

 New Services

The website provides a host of modern services through its homepage, including a road map of the toll gates. This service enables surfers to know the locations of the toll gate system (Salik) in high definition coloured charts with explanatory symbols. Visitors can also view photos of their violations, review them and take printouts.

The redesigned website enables clients to have direct registration and subscription to the system. Customers can open a new account in the system and add tags of new vehicles to the account by following easy steps to open and activate the account. The account could also be topped up, upon signing up to the personal account, through several payment options such as credit cards, e-dirham or direct bank debit in coordination with the Department of Dubai eGovernment. The new-look website also includes an integrated package of interactive services and an information pack for subscribers and users.

The redesign was carried out to make it compatible in shape and content with the corporate identity of the RTA and its website (www.rta.ae), along with posting important links to visitors of both websites. This covers several important links such as RTA website, Contact Us, Site Map, RTA Organizational Chart and Dubai Government, amongst others. Photos of Offending Vehicle RTA has added a new service enabling visitors to see photos of their offending vehicles once the user signs up to his or her account, along with many other related details.

  Violation Inquiry

Users can inquire about Salik offences by submitting vehicle numberplate information and clicking "Search". Search results will appear based on the information submitted even if the user does not have an account.

FAQs

With the aim of providing all the information Salik users need, RTA has incorporated a FAQs section, which includes answers to 20 questions that are frequently asked by users. In case users, whether individuals or companies, want to communicate with Salik supervising team, the link "Contact Us" features email addresses and a 24/7 contact phone number.

Topup Salik with mPay

The Dubai eGovernment has launched "mPay," a mobile payment service designed to provide an efficient and comfortable means of paying government fees and simplifying government interaction with the people and business community in Dubai. The mPay service has been specifically designed by the Department of Dubai eGovernment to provide a quick and easy means to settle government fees for people who are always on the move.

The Roads and Transport Authority has become the first to participate in the mPay facility, to provide electronic recharge of Salik accounts. Motorists can top up their Salik accounts from anywhere. In the near future, the service will be expanded to include several government services. Arrangements are being made with Dubai Police to use mPay for payment of fines. This facility will be valuable for those who discover they do not have enough cash on them to pay fines while renewing driving licenses or car ownership. The new service offers highest security standards as it is compliant with “Verified by Visa” and Master Card’s “SecureCode” programs.

Customers just have to sign up on mPay’s web portal, https://mpay.dubai. ae, to utilize the service and make payments in amounts of AED 50, 100 or 200. The mPay website incorporates ample information pertaining to the service, how to register in it and how to use it.
