There were times when it came to dead ends, but it refused to give up. Dubai’s vision and targets are crystal clear as they are an extension of the vision of the initiative’s patron and founder, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The Department of Dubai eGovernment successfully organised the first forum for government departments involved with the enhanced Government eServices Statistics System (GeSS) on March 10, 2009, at the Police Officer’s Club in Dubai.
As part of its drive to offer fully automated services, the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) has recently launched two eServices on its website, www.dewa.gov.ae, to facilitate inquiry of utility bill, either by entering consumer account number through DEWA website or by sending SMS text messages.

نحو "نظام موحد للاقتراحات" وصل لمجلتنا "تقنية للجميع" وعلى فترات مختلفة، عدد من الاقتراحات الخلاقة والأفكار تصلح ليكون كلٌّ منها مشروعاً تجارياً قائماً على المشاركة بين صاحب الفكرة وبين إحدى المؤسسات الحكومية، لكنهم يحجمون عن التقدم بها خوف أن تفقد جدواها في ظل عدم وضوح نظام الحوافز، وعدم وجود آلية للمشاركة في المنفعة المترتبة على نجاح مشترك. وفي شهر يناير الماضي دعونا في موضوع نشرناه في مجلة "تقنية للجميع" بعنوان "أما آن الأوان لها أن تتوحد؟ مراجعة لأنظمة الاقتراحات.. ومساهمة الجمهور" لبناء نظام موحد ومركزي على مستوى حكومة دبي بهدف تلقي الاقتراحات من الجمهور.
"الدفع الإلكتروني".. نجاح رغم "تجاهل" البنوك؟ ابتداءً من مطلع العام الفائت 2008 وحتى نهاية ديسمبر أُنجزت مليون معاملة قيمتها أكثر من مليار درهم عبر بوابة الدفع الإلكتروني التي طورتها "حكومة دبي الإلكترونية"، وهو ما يعادل نحو 400% إجماليَ ما حققه نظام الدفع الإلكتروني طوال العام 2007، والذي بلغ نحو 247 مليون درهم.
